God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling. -Psalm 46:1-3

TRANSCRIPTION:

Good morning saints of God. Good morning. This is Dr. Powell. I'm here with Preston. We are continuing our morning daily devotion and I figured  since he has a delayed opening today, he'll join in with us for this morning session um as we continue  our weekly understanding as it relates to  Psalms and the Key of Life.

Today we're going to read a little bit out of the 46th Division of Psalm. I think it will give us some marching orders for the day.

Okay. This one? Mm.

“God is our refuge and strength. A very present help in trouble therefore will not fear through the earth gives away through the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea. The wet waters, worries, and foam the mountains tremble at its swelling.” Okay.

So, this song actually was written as David's declaration of being able to be resilient even though stuff wasn't going well for him. And I think that's something that we can relate to today. That even though things don't always go the way that we planned. Some good things. Exactly. But especially that our help is embedded in the God that we serve.

I was looking at the news and I know you were as well, looking at everything that's going on in Minnesota and some other places. And it's kind of challenging because you're asking yourself, but where's God in all this?

Well, David reminds us that no matter what the forecast, no matter what the news report, that God is still our ever present help in the time of need. It seemed like those people look to be somewhat helpless, but this scripture gives us a different lens that if God is completely in control, it's not the nations nor the seas, nothing can overcome his power.

And so  for me, I think that our marching orders for the day are to recognize in whom we have strength and also more importantly,  where we are to stand as it relates to our faith, being firm no matter what. Am I right? All right. All right.

We want you to read the entirety of the 46th Division of Psalm in your free time, but definitely let it garner a different sense of hope even in these troubling times that we live in.

God bless you. Have an incredible morning. Have a day.
