Why Get Baptized?

Baptism is an important step in the life of every believer and a meaningful expression of faith in Jesus Christ. Getting baptized shows:

Obedience:

Jesus commands believers to be baptized.

 New Life:

Symbolizes leaving old life behind and being made new in Christ.

Spiritual Commitment: Marks a deliberate step of faith and lifelong devotion to Christ.

Public Declaration: Baptism is a visible expression of faith in Christ.

Requirements & Expectations

Water baptism at Community Baptist Church is guided by the following beliefs and practices:​

  • Candidates must understand spiritual meaning of baptism.

  • Profess faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord & Savior

  • Baptism is a biblical doctrine and command for believers.

  • Baptism at CBC is for older children and adults.

  • Parental permission is required for those under eighteen. Minimum recommended age is ten

  • Baptism is a public testimony of new life in Christ, not a means of salvation.
