Celebrating Freedom, Heritage, and Community This Juneteenth

Juneteenth is a celebration of freedom, resilience, and the enduring spirit of a people whose faith and perseverance helped shape our nation.

Observed annually on June 19, Juneteenth commemorates the day in 1865 when the last enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas learned they were free—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation had been issued. Today, it serves as a powerful reminder of both how far we have come and the work that remains as we continue to pursue justice, unity, and opportunity for all.

At Community Baptist Church, we believe Juneteenth is more than a historical observance. It is an opportunity to reflect on God's faithfulness, honor the contributions of generations past, and celebrate the rich culture, creativity, and community that continue to inspire us today.

To commemorate the occasion, Community Baptist Church invites you to Juneteenth: An Evening of Rhythm, Soul & Celebration on Saturday, June 20, 2026.

This elegant evening will feature live entertainment from Ty Jack & The Xperience, classic R&B and Motown favorites from DJ Rod, and hors d'oeuvres served throughout the event. Designed to bring people together through music, fellowship, and cultural appreciation, the celebration promises an unforgettable experience for all who attend.
